In 2025, our neighbors made over 9 million visits to food shelves, a staggering 2.5x increase over pre-pandemic levels.* From our rural towns to our urban centers, the high cost of food and the reduction in federal SNAP benefits are hitting home.

Food shelves report that approximately 72% of visitors are forced to choose between food and other essential expenses, such as rent, utilities, medication, childcare, or transportation. Many households are living paycheck to paycheck, carefully managing each dollar to cover the basics. The need is real and urgent.
