Your Everday Financial Choices Make A Difference

Written by Admin | September 16, 2026

September is Hunger Action Month

Each September, Hunger Action Month brings attention to food insecurity and encourages everyone to help end hunger. This year’s theme, Play Your Part, reminds us that small actions can make a difference.

Food insecurity means not always having reliable access to enough nutritious food. For many families, it can mean making difficult choices between groceries and other necessities like housing, utilities, child care, medication, or transportation.

Minnesota food shelves recorded more than 9 million visits in 2025, the highest number ever reported, and demand has continued to grow in 2026.

Your Money Does Good Here

At Magnifi Financial Credit Union, your money does good here.

Every financial decision you make helps strengthen our communities by providing essentials like food, shelter, and clothing to those who need it most. Through our 3 Essentials program, you're not just working toward your financial goals; you're helping others meet their most basic needs.

Here's how your everyday financial decisions create community impact:
πŸš— 1 Auto Loan = 100 pounds of food donated to a local food shelf.
🏠 1 Home Loan (purchase or refinance) = 1 night of shelter for someone in need.
πŸ‘” 1 New Personal Checking Account = 1 item of clothing donated.

Our Impact Since 2016

  • 1,366,192 pounds of food donated
  • 4,652 nights of safe shelter provided
  • 16,632 items of clothing given

These are more than numbers. They represent real families, children, and neighbors who have received support when they need it most.

As a member-owned financial cooperative, Magnifi reinvests in the places where we live and work. Whether you're financing a vehicle, buying or refinancing a home, or opening a checking account, your decisions have a ripple effect that reaches far beyond your finances.

Together, we're building stronger communities, one essential at a time.
